The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 is here, and it's a monster. Built on the new Blackwell architecture, this GPU represents a massive leap forward in both raw performance and AI capabilities.
At the heart of the RTX 5090 is the GB202 GPU, featuring 21,760 CUDA cores, 170 RT cores, and 680 Tensor cores. The card ships with 32GB of GDDR7 memory running at 28 Gbps across a 512-bit bus, delivering an incredible 1,792 GB/s of bandwidth.
DLSS 4 is the star of the show. Using Multi Frame Generation, the RTX 5090 can generate up to 3 additional frames for every rendered frame, potentially quadrupling your frame rates. Combined with Ray Reconstruction, games look better than ever.
In our testing, the RTX 5090 delivered 4K gaming at over 120 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with full ray tracing and DLSS 4 enabled. In native rendering, it's approximately 70% faster than the RTX 4090.
The Founders Edition features a new dual-slot cooler design that's actually quieter than the RTX 4090 despite the higher power draw. The card requires a 16-pin 12V-2x6 power connector and draws up to 575W under full load.
Pricing is aggressive at $1,999, the same launch MSRP as the RTX 4090. However, actual availability may be challenging given the high demand for Blackwell GPUs.
