Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review: The Foldable That Finally Makes Sense

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 represents the maturation of foldable technology. After years of iteration, Samsung has created a device that feels less like a novelty and more like the future of smartphones.

The design improvements are immediately noticeable. At 239g, it's the lightest Z Fold ever—12g lighter than the Fold 5. The new armor aluminum frame and improved hinge mechanism contribute to a 10% increase in durability. The crease on the inner display, while still present, is significantly less pronounced.

The 7.6-inch main display now features a slightly wider aspect ratio (20.9:9), making it better for productivity and media consumption. With 2,600 nits peak brightness and an improved anti-reflective coating, outdoor visibility is excellent.

Galaxy AI features are optimized for the large screen. Multi-window AI lets you run translations, note-taking, and web browsing simultaneously. The Interpreter mode uses both screens—you see translations on your side while the other person sees theirs on the cover display.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 handles everything with ease, including demanding games that take advantage of the tablet-sized display. The vapor chamber cooling keeps thermals in check during extended gaming sessions.

Camera quality has improved significantly. The 50MP main camera now matches the Galaxy S24 in quality, with excellent night mode performance. The under-display camera remains mediocre for selfies, but the cover screen camera is much better.

Battery life is adequate at 4,400mAh, lasting through a full day of normal use. Heavy users with the main display constantly open may need a top-up by evening.

At $1,899, the Z Fold 6 is expensive, but it's the most refined foldable experience money can buy.
